When people get into the computer world, they search for specific things. They may want to watch videos online, surf the net, play games or just a place to keep their digital images. A good PC thats fits the needs of your average new user is the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC. This HP computer comes with a good sized hard drive and lots of RAM but it doesn’t have a powerful graphics card instead it is shared with the processor. The HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC is a desktop for those on a budget, and not too interested in gaming. Although that may seem like a drawback, at least you will be spending your time doing genuine computer work instead of playing games.
For $600, this HP computer has 6GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive and a powerful 2.9GHz AMD Phenom 11 840T quad-core CPU, which are quite impressive specs for a budget PC. Also, it features an ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics chip plus standard PC features like a DVD burner and 802.11n wireless card.
The PC tower is a stunning black chassis featuring a glossy front panel, something you wouldnt see on a budget PC. There is an extra bay beneath the DVD panel if you are looking to add another hard drive or maybe a Blu-Ray player. The PC is about seven inches wide and has the power button at the top of the case. This computer is packaged with a mouse and keyboard set that are wired and quite generic. Unlike most new PCs, you aren’t going to find a lot of software bundled with it. Several trialware, and HP’s MediaSmart video and music playback suite.
The HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC also has a number of input ports and a multi-format card reader. It likewise features two USB 2.0 ports in the front plus microphone and headphone jacks. It doesn’t have multimedia type ports like Firewire or thunderbolt. The back of the PC has four USB 2.0 ports, DVI port, VGA port and a digital audio port. Also, the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC comes with 7.1 surround sound. As your needs grow, the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC can be restricting. The internals are not organized, with wires all clustered in the middle of the PC case. You essentially cant do any more to expand the PC. But, you can install a more powerful graphics card if you want.
If you want to do some hardcore gaming, the HP Pavilion p6720f may not be the right computer for you. The integrated graphics chip was simply not created to manage high end graphics. More casual PC games are more suitable to these budget PCs. If you want something to push the boundaries of your multimedia needs, then the Micro Express MicroFlex 25B is a good but pricier choice. Despite its graphic limits, the Pavilion p6720f gives a lot of value for the price with generous hard drive space, a great deal of RAM and a powerful processor. The HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC for sure met my daily PC needs. This computer from HP was fast, user-friendly and inexpensive.
