When it comes to video games, food, and music, do you know what are your children’s favorite? Are you providing your child with the daily needs that he or she needs? Just when you feel as if you have it all figured out, children prove that it cannot be that easy and they change things on you. Despite this, children do have things that they need to survive just like anyone else. Just hearing what your child is saying is not enough, you need to listen and understand so that you may help them. Children sometimes want something that is not inline with their needs. What they need from you, you can tell from their behavior when they misbehave and this can be the clue.
It is important for every child to realize that they are important. When other people value them, children learn to value themselves. It’s important that they we let them know that we see the good things they’re doing, because they don’t always see it for themselves. They will feel more important themselves if they feel important to you.
To feel included, the child needs to feel connected in some manner. Quite often, children will feel a connection through touch and not through words. When they feel physically connected to someone they trust and love, they will do better, as they learn that touch from you is good, safe and emotionally bonding.
It is necessary for your young son or daughter to feel a sense of safety and security. If the home where children are living is a safe and comfortable environment, then they’ll feel better about the world that they live in and be able to understand how things relate with each other.
Your young son or daughter needs to make decisions. Allowing children to make decisions allows them to have some sort of control in the world. Giving children choices gives them the ability to learn from mistakes and understand consequences.
We need to make sure that we are there for our children in every way so that they will be able to grow into adulthood and become good people.
