Halloween Is A Huge Holiday Full of Butterfly Costumes And Spooky Traditions
Halloween is a happiness holiday that people celebrate every year, on the 31st of October night. Amongst other customs such as dressing in various costumes at festivals, “trick and treat” is very loved especially by children, who knock at neighbors’ doors for fruits, nuts and sweets. The origins of Halloween are related to the Samhain pagan festival that was celebrated by Celts from Ireland and Great Britain. The traditions characteristic to Halloween celebration traveled towards North America during the XIXth century when Irish and Scottish emigrants reached the region.
The following century, occidental countries began to be familiar with various Halloween traditions. The United States and Ireland are the biggest Halloween fans, but occidental countries are also familiar with the holiday, celebrating it in various ways every 31st of October.
The costumes that are specific to Halloween are loved both by children and adults who “transform” into zombies, witches, ghosts, minnie mouse or vampires for one night. Halloween happens when the world of the living and the one of the dead get reunited and the dead spirits are free to walk the earth again. The tradition says that only the dead can go unnoticed during the night so people wear the special costumes. Children love Halloween as they get to dress in costumes and go for “trick or treat”.
On Halloween, houses are often decorated with face sculpted pumpkins that often have candles inside for a frightening effect. Specific to Ireland when it comes to this holiday is the bread and fruits pie, each person receiving a piece of it. The pie pieces include rings or coins, representing two different types of success in life: sentimental success or financial success.
Amongst other Halloween games, the one where people have to get many apples fruits and coins from a recipient filled of water is very well known. The person who gets with his or her mouth, more of the coins and the floating fruits is the winner of the game.
The apples are filled with coins for children as it is harder for them to reach the coins in the water. Halloween is the night when all people get to be someone else, such as a butterfly character or a fairy tale person, due to the special costumes they wear. Adults love Halloween as much as children due to the fun the holiday brings with it.
This holiday is no different from others when it comes to the tradition of people decorating the house together with their children. Halloween is also an adult holiday, considering that this night is destined for special fun, given by bars and clubs that opt for introducing the atmosphere of the holiday to their visitors. Halloween costumes are not conventional at all, considering that people dress as sexy witches and vampires.
As it became more and more popular Halloween now combines traditional and modern elements. The holiday is no longer conventional as there are no barriers when it comes to the night parties. Every country celebrates Halloween in a unique way, as traditions transformed not only in time, but also under the influence of the geographical influence. As time passed by, it was inevitable for the holiday to change, but it changed in a way that offers people the excitement they expect from a special occasion.
