How To Add Tags To You Scrapbook Pages
Scrapbooking tags have for quite a while been a wonderful way to add unique notes to a page in a way that brings out new life and interactivity to the layout.
They are also an especially cheap scrapbooking technique that can be a no-brainer to make. In this post we’ll be taking a look at some basic ways to make tags, what to write on the tags, and a few different locations to place them on your page.
Making Tags
Tags are more often little more than a small-ish rectangular piece of card, with a ribbon attached, and that’s all yours can be be too.
But, if you’d like to spruce them up just a little more you can do that as well. For a nice border, cut out a section of card that’s the same shape and a touch larger than the tag itself and attach it to the back of the tag using double sided tape. You may add tiny embellishments like buttons, stickers, charms and other nick nacks to personalise them further.
Writing on Tags
Usually the content that gets written on tags are short notes about the picss, such as what is going on or what occurred before/during/after the event, and occasionally they’re yet another place to add a page title. Nevertheless, they’re a great and thrifty way to brighten up a page
Placing Tags on the Page
There are 3 common places that I really like to add tags to a layout.
- Behind photographs are a really neat place to place tags. If the photograph is only mounted to the page from the corners you can simply slip the tag under leaving ribbon or tassel visible.
- You can also make the tag itself a feature of the page by making a special place for it. As an example, the string on the tag might be attached to the page with a brass fastener or looped around a stitched on button and left to dangle.
- Lastly you might make a special pocket on the page and neatly slide the tags into the pocket.
