For everybody Diwali is associated with the eternal hope of peace all over the world.

The main parts of Diwali celebrations include the pooja or solemn prayers being offered to the goddess of wealth, Laxmi, busting of firecrackers to attempt to scare and smoke the bad away from the world, lollies being exchanged with well wishes the sweetness will bring absolute happiness to everyone and plenty of lights that symbolize joy.

When preparing the foundations for Diwali 2011 here is a general list of few things which you need to keep in mind:

Before you start your Diwali shopping, to make things less complicated and simpler it may aid in making an inventory of the things you’ll need. This can include what candy you want to prepare, how many fireworks, lights, new clothing, ingredients for the pooja etc.

Once your list is ready commence your preparations with cleaning your place from top to bottom. A tidy house is the most significant part of Diwali events. Ditch anything that is not absolutely needed, give your home/business places a fresh coat of paint etc. If you’ve been thinking of changing the curtains and cushions this could be a great time to do so. Polish whatever requires polishing, mow the turf, clear out your garage to give your place a new look.

The following step is to clear a space for the
pooja or prayer. Generally the direction is north to south. The newspapers and web sites usually publish the time the necessary ingredients of the pooja 1 or 2 days before the date.

The shops and even the street markets are laden with good and diverse attractive home decorative items which make it very easy to shop for Diwali.
