What Kids Usually Want In School Backpacks
When you are looking at school backpacks there are lots of choices. What your child will want has a great deal to do with what they and their peers decide is in fashion and cool. The choice will also vary based on your child’s age. Depending on the age of your child there will be different things that your child will want in a backpack.
When kids are in elementary school or younger they usually want backpacks that feature a cartoon character or a superhero on them. What appears on the outside of the backpack never matters as much as what the features of the backpack are. This lack of functionality is not really a problem either in this age group. Backpacks for young children are really just a means of having something to carry their paperwork home to their parents and then back to school again. Usually these young children don’t have lots of heavy books to carry home so the pack’s functionality isn’t as important.
Having superheroes on backpacks seems to be much less of an attraction as kids age. As kids age the functionality of the backpack really matters much more as kids get older. A backpack that is a solid color and has plenty of pockets tends to be the pack of choice, as kids get older. Having a backpack that is sturdy enough to carry all their books home will now matter. It is important that an older child’s backpack can carry all the homework they’ll have.

Older children will need to have backpacks that have certain features on them. Backpacks with good should straps is one feature you should be sure to have. It is important that the straps are sturdy and that they have plenty of padding.
In most cases if your child has their heart set on a more expensive pack it will be worth it to spend the money on it.
