Why Your Workouts Aren’t Working Out For You

When it comes to proper fitness most women get it all wrong .  Who’s fault is it? Who knows, but it isn’t theirs…  we’ve be lead to believe that to get a great body and burn serious body fat then you need to get on an elliptical, on the treadmill, on the bike, on something and just go to town for 45 min, 60 minutes, sometimes even 90 minutes to have an great exercise routine for the day!

Steady state cardio is not the answer to real weight loss… in fact it’s really only for you if you’re trying to run a marathon or other long distant run.   But it’s not going to wow your fat burning.

Take a minute and think about the cheetah, it’s the fastest land animal and it’s body is streamline: strong, lean, and toned but does it run for miles like a marathon runner?   No way you’ll ever see a cheetah running miles upon miles.    That’s because they do quick sprints, or intervals to get to their food.  Now think of animals like water buffalo, during a stampede they can run for miles but do they have a body all the other African animals would be jealous of? No.

That’s because steady state cardio doesn’t do a good job of burning fat, it does do a good job of decreasing your metabolism (they life of just grass).  The intervals on the other hand, are blasting fat and skyrocketing the cheetah’s metabolism: it’s gotta live off a energy filled diet of protein.   So between the two which would you rather be compared to? The cheetah wins hands down!
To make it happen, what is it you should be doing?  Your workout plans should be designed with your goals.  If burning body fat is your ultimate desire then look at the cheetah and start copying it. Do intervals by sprinting for 30 seconds, rest for 30 or 60 seconds and repeat the interval for a total of 20 minutes.

Other than intervals, weight training for women is just as important for boosting up your calorie burn and metabolism so you burn fat when you’re watching the Kardashians.  Just make sure to stay away from the machines, you’re not suppose to exercise sitting down, get up and move to the free weights to do exercises like squats, bench press, etc.

Keep in mind that no matter how hard your workouts are, if you eat like crap you’re results will be crap too. Harsh but true. It’s best to follow a clean eating diet filled with all natural foods, eliminating the processed stuff like fast food and microwaveable dinners.  It’s really not hard to make great tasting dinners that are also great for your body. So starting today stop with the water buffalo act and go cheetah.
