How long will it take me too gain a noticeable amount of muscle.?

I’m 16 and weigh 216lbs. I’m not really fat at all but I just want to have more muscle on me. Right now I don’t exercise often, but I am going to start because I want to be more healthy. I drink TONS of milk. I drink either milk or water.
I am wondering how long it will take on average to see a noticeable difference in muscle mass, and In a year of going to a gym with a personal trainer how much better would my shape be.

first- don’t listen to the other responses cuz most of them are complete bullshit

You’re a beginner so at first, you will see noob gains rather fast regardless of how much protein you eat or how hard you train or even regardless of how shitty you train.

If i were you, i wouldn’t get a personal trainer. I almost got a personal trainer at my gym, and not getting one was the best decision i ever made in terms of lifting. If your PT only does machines and some free weights, then forget him/her. Most PTs are complete shit, but there are some good ones. Look into it, but if they don’t have you squatting/deadlifting then drop them. And squatting past parallel too

If you want to build muscle, you have to do the compound lifts.

Squat, Deadlift, Bench, Overhead Press, Rows, Cleans, Dips, Pullups/Chinups

The fact that you drink milk is great.. As i said earlier, you will see results early regardless of what you do and what you eat, but once you start lifting more often and are able to lift more, you may start to plateau. This is where eating a lot of protein comes in

Good luck dude

If you follow a program to gain muscle, and you lift weights at least twice a week, you will be able to see a difference in about 6 weeks.

Months. Take energy drinks and lift weights after drinking energy drinks. That way it takes 1-3 months

    hard to say.
it all depends what you eat and how often you work out and what type of excercises you do.
eat lots of protein to build muscle LOTS of protein. and lift weights every OTHER day. Do cardio the other days. You should see some results in a few weeks like feeling better with more energy and perhaps a little more tonage.

OH and whatever you do. DON’T listen to energy drink boy up there. he’s WRONG. energy drinks are the worst thing you can do to yourself.

If you have issues with weight do what I did – try acai berry. If you need to lose weight its superfood qualities help plenty – nevertheless those same qualities also help those who are trying to bulk up. Fantastic! There’s a free trial going on right now at http://volant.yoursecretdiet.info , why not try it, what is the worst that could happen?
