Head And Neck Sweating: Effects Of Proper Hydration
Monday, May 31st, 2010The body benefits a lot from sweating. It regulates body temperature and excretes toxins. But sometimes, people sweat too much that they wonder what could be causing it. Find out what could cause head and neck sweating so that you can prevent it.
As mentioned above, sweating is the body’s way to regulate temperature and excrete toxins. This means that you can expect profuse sweating on days that your body’s temperature is increased. More sweating should also be expected on days that your body has more toxins. If you do not want to sweat more on some days, you can do something about this by helping your body excrete toxins and regulate its temperature.
But first, you must know that sweat glands can be found in the skin that covers the whole body. This means that any area of your body may produce sweat. And second, more sweat glands can be found in the underarms, palms, feet, head, and neck. Now, this means that you can produce more sweat in these parts. What can you do to prevent head and neck sweating?
To prevent head and neck sweating, you can help the body in regulating its temperature. First, you can adequately hydrate yourself by taking 6 to 8 glasses of water every day. Drinking this suggested amount of water is more than enough to help the body in cooling down especially on days that are hot or after your daily exercise.
Second, you can avoid foods and drinks that can increase your body’s temperature. The body’s temperature rises when you drink alcoholic beverages because this causes the blood vessels to swell. Furthermore, the body’s temperature also rises when you drink caffeinated beverages because this increases metabolism. Reducing your intake of both alcoholic and caffeinated beverages can help in reducing head and neck sweating.
When talking about food, spicy or hot foods are known to boost body temperature because of capsaicin. And since certain foods have lots of toxins in them, reducing your intake of these foods will help reduce head and neck sweating. Examples of foods that have toxins are junk foods and foods laden with MSG. MSG, which means monosodium glutamate, is a well-known food additive that has been used for centuries now. Scientific studies have also shown that MSG raises sweat production. Therefore, choose foods that have no MSG in them and when you are eating out, tell the waiter to hold the MSG.
And third, keeping your body healthy is a great way to prevent head and neck sweating. A healthy body can be achieved by regularly exercising and having a proper diet.
